Photo/Privacy Rules per PISD PTA
“When taking photographs of PTA events occurring on school grounds during school hours, non-staff PTA members shall refrain from photographing students and shall not publish any student names or photos. The one exception would be to take photographs for the yearbook.
PTA events occurring outside of regular school hours are non-school sponsored activities and PTA must follow its established guidelines for obtaining permission to publish photographs of participants.”
In other words:
Taking photos at in-school/after school PTA events, and/or publishing student names and photos is prohibited. Each student at Bethany has a different privacy level that needs to be respected. When enrolling in Skyward, parents are asked privacy questions. This helps guide who can appear on Bethany social media.
Note: To be clear, it is completely okay for parents to take photos of their children and post on social media as they see fit. We just all need to be aware that privacy guidelines are different for each student at Bethany. Taking photos and posting names and or photos of children that are not your own, is prohibited.
Bethany Elementary PTA will have PTA Staff Photographers at in-school and after-school events. They will be ensuring moments are captured for the yearbook.
