Dive into Reading
MAY 25 – JUL 31
WHY SHOULD I READ?
Research shows that students who do not read over the summer lose skills and fall behind their peers. Reading over the summer encourages life long reading habits and increases reading comprehension.
WHAT SHOULD I READ?
Students should choose books that they find interesting and talk to others about the books they read. Print books, ebooks, magazines, newspapers, and audio books all count!
HOW MUCH SHOULD I READ?
Aiming for 20+ minutes a day is a great goal for maintaining skills, but any amount of reading is better than none at all; the most important thing is consistency.
